Chanko is a Dominican-born, New York City–raised illustrator who has been drawing for over 20 years. Living a nomadic lifestyle, he travels the world to learn, connect, and draw inspiration from different cultures, stories, and people he encounters.

 

He finds joy in creating characters and bringing their stories to life—blending everyday visuals with fantasy to create art that resonates and inspires—deeply influenced by spirituality, anime, African culture, his Dominican roots, and the energy of those around him. Art has served as an outlet for Chanko to express his emotions in ways that talking can be limiting. Art has been cathartic in helping him process loss, love, and his sense of self. Chanko’s work is full of heart, imagination, and a love for storytelling that transcends borders.
